Tanzania Pipe Line

Project Description
On September 26, 2011, CPTDC, CPP, and CPE, three subsidiaries of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) jointly signed the EPC contract with Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) for the construction of Tanzania Mnazi Bay and Songo Songo Natural Gas Processing Plants and Gas Transportation Pipeline Project, a new natural gas pipeline from the natural gas fields in the southeast of Tanzania to Dar es Salaam as well as two gas processing plants, with a total length of 542km. The offshore pipeline system starts from the Songo Songo Island gas processing plant near the west coast of Songo Songo Island, following an offshore route to the Tanzanian shoreline at Somanga Funga, to connect with the Somanga Station pipeline, and the deepest water depth is about 46.3m (EGM96). In the middle of June 2013, Q&M International Limited (PCI’s parent company) started the onsite application of concrete coating for approximately 27km of offshore pipeline with a pipe size of OD610mm × WT 22.2mm and around 20km onshore pipeline with the pipe size of OD914mm × WT 12.7mm passing through the marsh area as well as 5km of 16’’ gas processing pipeline. The entire concrete weight coating application project was completed within eight (8) months, including equipment and facilities mobilization, assembling, production as well as delivery.
